Position Description

Over the past three years, LDS Living has become one of the fastest-growing LDS sites on the internet (if not the fastest!) We are a passionate group who cares about making a positive difference in the world and setting (and achieving!) big goals.

LDS Living provides interns with a unique opportunity to learn the ins-and-outs of creating media and strategy for online content marketing to a specific audience in a mission driven but corporate environment. You'll have opportunities for practical application of coummuications theory, video production, marketing, graphic design, and events/production planning as well as professional development.

As our intern, you'll work with our editorial team to develop and pitch video concepts relevant to the LDS Living audience. You'll use aftereffects software and audio software to add value to media productions, learn ans use motion graphic production applicatinos, professionally and quickly edit short social media videos with Final Cut Pro X for use on social media sites with direction and input from the strategy team and producers.

Additionally, you'll assist with preproduction recruitment, interviews, and planning, manage equipment rentals, set up, and filming during in-house shoots, maintain in-house video equipment and experiment with new ways to expand value and use of equipment, and research, assess, and evaluate performance to inform future production.

LDS Living is a thriving web site and bi-monthly magazine. We address issues that are relevant to Mormons and that celebrate our unique culture. We complement spiritual issues and strive to support the lifestyle and beliefs of our readers.

Required Skills:

Applicants for this internship ust possess a good eye for basic design and visual media principles with a medium to high proficiency with Final Cut Pro X, DSLR camera equipment, audio gear, and studion lighting gear. Some experience with documentary-style film work and editing, and creating media for social media platforms is preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to receive and give feedback on creative projects and a willingness to learn new software and applications and apply them to projects as requested. Some weekend and evening shoots may be assigned.

Additional Information:

This is a paid internship opportunity that requires approximately 30-40 hours a week during regular business hours for 15 weeks, starting September 5, 2017 and ending December 15, 2017.
